Abigail was picked out at random to be the home game mascot for Nottingham Forest vs Wigan Athletic on the 26th January. Abigail and her family are huge Forest fans, they are all season ticket holders and have said Abigail has wanted to be a mascot since she was 6 years-old so she was really excited when she got this opportunity.
Abigail arrived at the City Ground ready for her day as a mascot, she was nervous but very excited. Straight away she got to personally meet all of the first team players and had the opportunity to watch them pitch side as they warmed up before the game. This led to one of the best parts of the day for Abigail, which was meeting her favourite player, Matty Cash!
Abigail and our corporate match day mascot Joshua, then visited Robin’s Hood where they had some time to relax before the game. As it got closer to kick off, Abigail made her way pitch-side for her pre-match interview with Mark Dennison. She then went in to the tunnel and prepared to walk out with her favourite player Matty Cash, the atmosphere was amazing and she walked out to a sold out stadium! Abigail then had the chance to shoot at the goal in front of the crowd.
Abigail had a great day and she said “When I got there I was really nervous about meeting the players but they were really nice people and made me feel welcome. My favourite part was when I walked out of the tunnel, and I could see all the fans cheering as I walked out.”
