On Monday night, Nottingham Forest took on Derby County at home in the much anticipated East Midlands derby. The atmosphere in the sold out stadium was exhilarating which made the experience for our match day mascot Brian even more exciting.
Brian Hurley who is 9 years old was one of our match day mascots on Monday night’s big game at The City Ground. Brian had travelled all the way from Ireland with his family to be our mascot for the Derby game. His exciting evening started with him getting the opportunity to meet the first team players in their changing room, where he got the chance to chat to them, as well as get some autographs and pictures.
Brian got to walk out on to the pitch with NFFC’s Ben Watson, this was very exciting for him and he absolutely loved it. The atmosphere of the sold out stadium and the fans cheering as they walked out, added to the whole experience for Brian.
Brian and his family had an amazing time and thanked the Trust saying “Thanks ever so much to you and also your colleagues for showing Brian such a wonderful time on Monday night, and making his dream come true. The level of care and attention shown to all mascots was heart-warming to see. All of you are a credit to yourselves, and also to Nottingham Forest Football Club.” We are so glad that Brian enjoyed his match day mascot experience, especially with such a great result for Nottingham Forest beating our rivals Derby County 1-0!
