This Monday our February half-term Soccer Schools kicked off in Newark! The first day was held at the YMCA Newark and Sherwood Community and Activity Village, a brand new facility where we hold different Football Development sessions every week. The children had a great morning playing games and competing in a tournament against each other.

After their lunch break the Soccer School participants continued on with their tournament when they were joined by a very special guest! Nottingham Forest first team player Matty Cash, came along to visit the children and have some fun at our Soccer School. The children got the fantastic opportunity to ask Matty some amazing questions in a Q&A session, this helped them get to know Matty better as well as understand what it’s like to be a first team football player for NFFC!

After the Q&A session the children commenced with their tournament and Matty had a walk around observing the amazing skills on show, he then got ready to present NFFC prizes to some lucky winners. Matty presented Isaac our defender of the day with some new shin pads, our goalkeeper of the day with some gloves and Fergus our striker of the day with a brand new NFFC football.

As the first day of our Soccer School concluded, Matty was around to sign some autographs and take pictures with the children!
