Nottingham Forest Community Trust are pleased to have donated a full match worn kit to AFC Jacksdale Miners Welfare U35’s, the team is made up of Armed Forces Veterans and they play in a Sunday League. The kit which was worn during the Game of Remembrance this season was given to the team, who then decided to kindly make a donation to the Trust. The team have also decided that for every goal they score this season they will be donating £2 to helping the Trust continue their work in and around local communities.
Luke Wigley manager of AFC Jacksdale Miners Welfare Football Club who play in the Mansfield Sunday League explained, “Last season we were runners up in the first division and league cups respectively and have been promoted to the premier division for the upcoming season.”
Luke said “We would like to place on record our gratitude to Nottingham Forest Football Club who have kindly donated us a kit for both last season and another for the current season.” The team are passionate about Sunday League football and to show their gratitude Luke added “We will be donating £2 for every goal we score next season back to Nottingham Forest Community Trust, hopefully we can match last years tally of 110 league goals or even bag a few more. Once again from myself and all at AFC Jacksdale Miners Welfare we thank you.”
