Enhance your memory and socialise

Nottingham Forest Community Trust warmly invites you to join our Memory Club, a space for those who may be experiencing concerns about their memory.

Designed to provide support, stimulation, and social interaction, our Memory Club offers a relaxed environment where individuals can connect, engage, and enhance their cognitive abilities. The sessions offer an ability for a tea/coffee, chat or take part in recreational activities.

Memory Club is supported by the Premier League and Professional Footballers’ Association. Administered through the Premier League Charitable Fund, the funding helps football clubs to tackle inequality and respond to local challenges, supporting people and their communities to be more inclusive.

Every Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, our Memory Club gathers at Evolve, Strelley Social Club, Helston Drive, Nottingham, NG8 6JZ. Our sessions are free, ensuring that accessibility is never a barrier to participation. Whether you’re seeking to sharpen your memory, meet new friends, or simply enjoy some stimulating activities, our club is open to all.

Memory loss can be a daunting experience, but it’s essential to remember that you’re not alone. Our sessions are facilitated by experienced professionals who understand the challenges associated with memory impairment. Through engaging activities and games specifically designed to boost memory function, participants can embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

Ian Richardson, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator at Nottingham Forest Community Trust said “We’ve seen first-hand the positive impact that social interaction and cognitive stimulation can have on individuals living with memory concerns. Our aim is to provide a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.”

At our Memory Club, participants have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities tailored to their interests and abilities. From memory games and puzzles to group discussions and reminiscence sessions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Moreover, the camaraderie and sense of belonging created within our sessions contribute to a vibrant and inclusive community spirit.

Nigel Plant, Health and Wellbeing Practitioner at Nottingham Forest Community Trust also added, “Our goal is to create a space where individuals feel empowered to embrace their journey and celebrate the unique experiences that make them who they are.”

“Through our Memory Club, we hope to combat stigma surrounding memory loss and promote understanding, acceptance, and support within our community.”

Whether you’re personally experiencing memory challenges or are a caregiver seeking resources and support, our Memory Club welcomes you with open arms. Together, let’s embark on a journey of learning, growth, and friendship.
