Billy Warburton and Nathan Johnson are the first students of our degree programme to graduate with a BSc (Hons) degree in Coaching, Business & Administration in partnership with the University of South Wales. Billy and Nathan both joined Nottingham Forest in September 2013 as part of a Futsal & Education Scholarship programme for 16-17 year-olds.
Both the boys studied a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport & Excellence over 2 years, which helped them to gain experiences and improve as students and footballers. In the Summer of 2015 Nathan and Billy completed their studies, both achieving distinction profiles. After completing their diplomas they had multiple employment and university opportunities however, they both decided to study a 3 year degree with Nottingham Forest.
Overseen by the University of South Wales our degree offers students the opportunity to gain valuable coaching skills and qualifications. Studying for a degree with Nottingham Forest has provided Billy and Nathan with plenty of opportunities within the club and the sporting industry, such as employment at The Forest Sports Zone as ‘Forest Sports Zone Assistants’.
Nathan and Billy have now both graduated from our programme and The University of South Wales, with a BSc (Hons) degree in Coaching, Business & Administration which has allowed them to gain valuable knowledge and skills to help further their careers. Now that they have completed their degrees Nathan and Billy are looking at career options within the sports industry and at Nottingham Forest.
