Forest For Everyone: Notts Pride 2023

Last Saturday, the streets of Nottingham city centre witnessed a spectacular celebration of love, equality, and acceptance as Nottingham Forest Community Trust took part in Nottinghamshire Pride 2023 proudly displaying its ‘Forest For Everyone’ banner. With rainbow colours adorning the city, the event brought thousands together to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community’s resilience, love, and unwavering spirit.

Nottingham Forest Community Trust, renowned for its efforts in delivering positive change in the local community, demonstrated their commitment to inclusivity by actively participating in this year’s Pride event. As an integral part of Nottingham’s community, the Trust understands the importance of breaking barriers and promoting unity, irrespective of one’s background or identity.

Walking with members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies, sporting Forest shirts and flags, the Trust’s teams made their way through the heart of the city as part of the parade. The event also provided an opportunity to show our support alongside Notts County Foundation and Trent Bridge Community Trust showcasing how sports can bridge gaps and empower individuals to embrace their true selves, both on and off the pitch.

Beyond the football pitch, Nottingham Forest Community Trust continues to work diligently to provide support and opportunities for all members of the community, including those from marginalised backgrounds. This support also includes backing the Premier League’s annual Rainbow Laces campaign which promotes equality and diversity in football. The involvement in Nottinghamshire Pride is another step forward in the ongoing journey to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The Trust’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager Claire Henson said, “We were immensely proud to be part of Nottinghamshire Pride 2023, reaffirming our commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity. Events like these allow us to showcase the power of football in breaking barriers and a more inclusive society. We will continue to champion such initiatives that create a positive impact both on and off the football pitch.”
