Nottingham Forest Community Trust and Nottingham Forest Football Club are committed to supporting our Armed Forces community. So far this year, we have already held numerous coffee and breakfast mornings here at The City Ground. We previously have held events with NFFC legends such as John McGovern, Garry Birtles and Frank Clark. Our programme is designed to offer unique opportunities for Veterans in our community to socialise and have fun.
We hold a monthly event for local Veterans in the area, this month we decided it would be a great idea to do something a little bit different to say thank you to all of the people who have regularly been attending our events. On Friday evening, we held a Comedy Night here at The City Ground with comedian Mike Farrell.
There was an amazing turn out, with a mix of Veterans and their guests in attendance. We provided complimentary drinks for everyone to enjoy whilst socialising and meeting people they may not have yet had the chance to speak to at one of our previous events.
As the evening progressed we were joined by the comedian for the night, Mike Farrell. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and thought Mike was hilarious! Mike also made sure to socialise with some of our Veterans afterwards which was a great addition.
We then did a raffle, with all proceeds going back into funding our Forest Forces Veterans programme, helping to ensure we can keep holding events such as this one.
There were some amazing Nottingham Forest prizes up for grabs. The lucky winners received prizes such as, one of three match worn first team shirts, a football signed by the first team, or tickets to a game next season.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event, it was a fantastic evening. If you would like to find out more about our programme for Veterans ‘Forest Forces’ then simply click here.
