Helping to provide food and supplies to our community
Alongside, the Robin Hood Fund and HOPE Nottingham we have been working hard to source and secure food and supplies to local food banks across the county.
The Robin Hood Fund, which was set up to raise much needed funds for the vulnerable and those most at need in Nottingham during this unprecedented period, raised over £20,000 (as of the 1st April) thanks to the amazing generosity of our local people.
The first £10,000 of the funds raised was decided that it would go to food bank organisations working across the city.
Collaborating with HOPE Nottingham, our job was to help provide these vital food and supplies and distribute them to a number of different food banks according to their specific needs. The food banks which we helped were:
- NG11 Clifton Foodbank
- Meadows Foodbank
- Grace Church
- HOPE Nottingham
- Bestwood & Bulwell Foodbank
- Himmah/Muslim Hands
- Arnold Foodbank
- St. Ann’s Advice Centre
Councillor Rebecca Langton, Portfolio Holder for Communities at Nottingham City Council, said:
“We have always been committed to ensuring the money raised reaches those most at risk as quickly as possible. Thanks to the excellent work of Nottingham Forest Community Trust and HOPE Nottingham, amongst many other people and organisations, the first £10,000 raised will be creating a tangible difference in the coming days. Nottingham, we cant thank you enough.”
