Joseph started training with Nottingham Forest Community Trust in September 2017, attending both our Advanced Coaching Centre and Official Soccer Schools, since then his mum said “my sons interest in football has grown immensely with him training twice a week with Nottingham Forest Community Trust”. Due to his involvement with the Community Trust Joseph’s family formed great relationships with the coaches, which led to his family all becoming season card-holders for the first time with Forest this season. Joseph’s mum says “it’s been a great way to spend time together as a family, I doubt this would have happened without the relationships formed with the Nottingham Forest Community Trust coaches.”

Joseph enjoys playing in goal therefore, he is a huge fan of the Forest keeper Costel Pantilimon. After seeing Pantilimon give a young fan his shirt after the Reading game, Joseph was really keen to try and get his shirt at the next match. One of our coaches from the Nottingham Forest Community Trust called Dante, suggested to Joseph that he should make a sign to try and grab Pantilimon’s attention during the next match. He made a sign that read ‘please may I have your shirt’ in Romanian, and held it up as the player was exiting the ground. Pantilimon took off his shirt and handed it to Joseph, his mum said “I cannot describe how overjoyed my son was and what a boost it gave all of us as a family”.
