Yesterday, we were at Gresham Park in West Bridgford for the second week of our October half-term Soccer Schools. After a day packed full of football, the children were greeted by a very special Nottingham Forest guest, Joe Worrall. The Nottingham Forest first-team defender was in attendance to talk to the kids and get involved with the fun!

The children were extremely excited to be joined by one of their favourite players, and they were even more excited when he got involved in some of the games. The children loved having a first-team player on their team, and one group of children were ecstatic when Joe joined in and scored them their winning goal!

After the games were finished for the day, it was time for a question and answer session between the children and Joe. The kids loved getting to know their favourite player even more and asked some amazing questions such as; What is the hardest match you have ever played? and How did you become a professional footballer? Joe gave them some great advice about working hard to achieve your goals and talked about how he got to play for Nottingham Forest.

To conclude the afternoon, Joe participated in our awards ceremony, giving out our ‘Player of the Day’, ‘Team Player of the Day’ and ‘Star of the Day’ awards. The deserving winners received a fantastic trophy and a signed Joe Worrall card each. Joe also ensured that every child left with a signed programme after the Soccer School.

Thank you to Joe Worrall for coming down to our Soccer School yesterday, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
