Karim family get in touch to give positive feedback on Free Fun and Food programme
In light of the recent success of the Free Fun and Food programme, local parent Saiqua Karim took the time to get in touch with Nottingham Forest Community Trust to give some much sought-after feedback.
During the summer, the Karim children attended sessions at Nottingham Academy and South Wilford Primary and both children enjoyed a variety of activities from basketball to arts & crafts during the summer.
The family first heard about the programme through Ayaan’s football coach at Sneinton FC who informed parents by sharing the booking link. Saiqua admits, at first, she was sceptical about the programme, but the coach assured her that it was organised by NFCT and that it would be great for Ayaan and his sister to attend.
Now the sessions have wrapped up, Saiqua’s words speak for themselves, as she explains,
“Well the kids have absolutely loved the 3 sessions they have been to. The people delivering the programme over all the sessions have been amazing and the kids spoke very highly of them.”
Saiqua continues, “For me personally, I thought what a great collaborative initiative helping communities to connect, engage and building young people’s confidence with the activities that are being delivered. This is rare and absolutely wonderful to see.
She concludes, “I would normally offer a “better if” or shall I say maybe suggest what you could have done better. But in this instance, I strongly feel the programme is very well thought through and a top programme for kids in Nottingham, with a variety of activities and I so proud of you all. I’ve not seen something like this for quite some time! Lastly a very sincere thanks to you and everyone involved in the programme from the kids and I.”
NFCT are delighted to have received such positive and heart-warming feedback. Comments such as these reflect why the Trust engages in programmes that can add value and impact to the local community.
With September now well and truly here, the Trust is now planning ahead for the next Free Fun and Food programme scheduled for the Christmas holidays in December.
Keep an eye out on social media for updates on when and how to book onto the sessions.
