Lockdown FIFA events for Premier League Kicks
We have been hosting a range FIFA 20 fixtures and competitions for our existing and new Premier League Kicks participants to help keep them engaged, have some fun and interact with others since being unable to hold our usual sports and activity sessions.
Premier League Kicks is a free programme, giving 8-18 year olds across Nottinghamshire the opportunity to play football & other multi-sport activities. The aim of these sessions are to engage, inspire & educate young children and adults, using the power of football and the value of sports participation to help hard-to-reach youngsters in some of the most high-need areas.
We have have held a number of FIFA 20 tournaments across multiple consoles so far, with hundreds of boys and girls taking part. It’s been great to see the interaction between players of different ages from different areas of Nottingham. The winner of each tournament has taken home and exclusive Nottingham Forest goodie bag of prizes and was able to join the team taking on other Premier League Kicks sides in later FIFA 20 fixtures.
The fixtures organised between ourselves and other Community Trusts allowed us to bring participants from other Premier League Kicks programmes together in some friendly games. So far our boys and girls have taken home the bragging rights beating Stoke by 5 goals to 2 followed by another win against Derby where they won 5 goals to 3. The collaboration between the charities has been great and all of the participants involved have really enjoyed taking part.
It’s been great to see the kids having some fun during these difficult times and parents of some of the players reiterated this saying:
“Our biggest Forest Fan was absolutely delighted to win. Think he’s still on a high! Thank you so much for hosting this.”
“My lad really enjoyed it. Having lost 6-0 in his first game (to the eventual winner) he was delighted to make the semis. Thank you so much for organising.”
