Across Nottinghamshire we deliver our flagship Premier League Primary Stars in a number of different schools, aiming to inspire boys and girls to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

On Monday we held a tournament at the Nottingham Forest training facilities as part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme. We invited 18 different primary schools down who all bought teams of 10 each, this was a great opportunity for the children to get to play on the same facilities as the First team and Academy players!

As the day commenced and the children were taking part in their matches they were joined by some very special guests… Nottingham Forest First Team Midfielder’s Matty Cash and Ben Watson. The players came down to have a chat with each team and give them some words of support for the day, the children also got the opportunity to get photographs with the players and some autographs. The children absolutely loved this special visit, especially being able to get some tips from some amazing professional footballers!

The day consisted of different games between all of the schools and concluded with a fantastic final between Middleton Primary School and Kimberly Primary and Nursery School. After a great match with some amazing footballing skills it was the children from Middleton Primary who took the win!

We’ve received some fantastic feedback from some of the schools that attended, such as the following from Langar Church of England Primary School;

“We just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising the event today. I thought the organisation and the attitude of the staff was exceptional. The way they engaged with the children (especially on pitch 1) was fantastic – very warm and encouraging. Although we didn’t progress from the groups, the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of attending the academy. With most of the children supporting Forest it was a great opportunity for them.”
