As part of Mental Health Awareness Week we delivered a Mental Health Day at one of our PLPS partner schools – Leamington Primary Academy. The day was delivered to KS2 pupils at the school, with each class having a 45 minute workshop.

The pupils learnt in the session:

🔴Super Mood Movers
🔴What mental health is
🔴Positive/negative feelings and how to deal with them
🔴What you can do and who you can talk to if you are feeling down
🔴Looking towards the future coming out of Covid-19

The aim of the sessions was to get the pupils talking and sharing, whilst letting them know it’s ok to feel down, but also important to talk about it and not keep it to yourself.

Oli Tatterson – PE Lead Leamington Academy “Our pupils at Leamington really enjoyed the mental health day delivered by Nottingham Forest Community Trust, all pupils in key stage 2 took part in a workshop where they learnt about the importance of looking after their mental health, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day!”

“Being active is so important to support mental health and the coaches from NFFC got everyone thinking about what we can do to support others and look after ourselves. I would like to thank Tom and Emma for their highly engaging and interactive sessions.”
