Neuro Walking Football Team to play at St George’s Park

Nottingham Forest Community Trust to participate in the world’s largest walking football tournament for people with Parkinson’s.

Nottingham Forest Community Trust is pleased to announce that a team of participants from our Neuro Walking Football sessions will be representing the Trust at the Sport Parkinson’s Walking Football Tournament on Saturday 19th April. The event will be held at St George’s Park, Burton, on the renowned Sir Alf Ramsey Pitch.

Having proudly taken part in last year’s tournament, the team is excited to return for what promises to be another fantastic day of sport, inclusion, and community.

This tournament is the world’s largest Walking Football event for people living with Parkinson’s, featuring 24 teams from across the country. Teams will be divided into two leagues, with 12 teams competing for the Shield and 12 for the Trophy.

The Nottingham Forest Community Trust team consists of participants who regularly attend our Neuro Walking Football sessions, which are designed to promote physical activity, social connection, and wellbeing for those living with neurological conditions.

Colin Eley, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said:

“This tournament is a fantastic opportunity for our participants to take part in a national event that not only supports physical health, but also encourages social engagement and confidence. We’re proud to be involved and look forward to seeing our team enjoy the experience at such a high-profile venue.”

The event is expected to be a celebration of community, resilience, and the positive impact of sport, offering an inspiring day for players, supporters, and organisers alike.
