At Nottingham Forest Community Trust we are introducing a new Walking Football initiative to encourage over 50’s to get involved in football. Everyone is invited to come down and have a chat on the day, socialise and find out more information. Come down and enjoy a relaxed kick about and play football with new people, no matter your skill or experience level. Walking football offers a range of physical health benefits to players as well as a great opportunity to make new friends and meet new people through being active.

The sport includes specific rules to ensure participant’s safety including, minimal to no physical contact between players, over-head height restrictions, and indirect free kicks. Teams are either 5 or 6-a-side and the slower pace of the game assures participants feel safe and comfortable enough to join in.

Nottingham Forest Community Trust will be holding a Walking Football open-day:

  • Venue – The Forest Sports Zone, The Forest Recreation Ground Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham, NG7 6LD.
  • When –  Sunday 19th August
  • Time – 2pm-4pm.

We also have European Cup winner and Nottingham Forest legend John McGovern attending the event.

People of all abilities and experience levels are welcome, including both women and men over the age of 50. Participants are welcome to take part and play on the day or just come down to talk and find out more information. If you have any enquiries please contact
