Our Premier League Kicks programme engages young people from some of the most high need areas across Nottingham, providing them with free constructive activities every week, including a wide variety of sports, coaching, music educational and personal development sessions. Not only does the programme provide outlets for young people but it also comes with incredible opportunities like this one.
On Monday a team of our Premier League Kicks participants travelled to the University of Warwick for the annual Premier League Kicks Cup to represent Nottingham Forest Football Club. This years competition saw over 700 young people participating in the event representing 65 professional clubs from all over the UK.
Our team were excited to get started in the competition, they took on teams such as Aston Villa, Reading and Watford who were the eventual winners of the tournament. The boys put in a great amount of effort and fantastic teamwork. As the day came to an end our amazing team came away with 3 wins, 2 losses and one draw.
Premier League Projects Manager, Declan Barker said “The boys really enjoyed the opportunity to engage with other young people representing professional football clubs and they are all already really excited for next years Kicks Cup!”
