Rainbow Laces: Celebrating Equality

In a commitment to inclusivity, Nottingham Forest Community Trust proudly joins hands with Nottingham Forest Football Club and the Premier League to mark the 10th anniversary of the Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign. This collaborative effort seeks to celebrate and promote LGBTQ+ inclusion not just during specific campaigns but throughout the entire year, both on and off the football pitch.

Rainbow Laces Nottingham Forest

At the heart of our commitment lies a dedication to developing an environment that embraces diversity and equality. Through collaborative initiatives with Nottingham Forest Football Club and the Premier League, we work tirelessly to ensure that our efforts extend beyond the boundaries of the football pitch on match days. Our community programmes play a crucial role in delivering ongoing education work, raising awareness, and telling the inspiring story of Rainbow Laces at a local level.

As part of our comprehensive approach, the Trust remains dedicated to delivering educational programmes within the community. These initiatives aim to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ inclusion and serve as a platform to share the impactful narrative of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces. By integrating these educational components into our community programmes, we strive to create an environment that not only embraces diversity but also educates individuals on the importance of fostering an inclusive community.

Our support for the Rainbow Laces initiative is more than just symbolic; it’s a testament to our ongoing commitment to making football and our community truly inclusive. We believe in sending a powerful message that football is for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or background. By supporting campaigns like Rainbow Laces, we actively contribute to breaking down barriers and creating a space where everyone feels welcome and accepted.

Acknowledging the significance of fan involvement, the Trust is honoured to collaborate closely with Proud Forest, the newly-formed official LGBTQ+ supporters’ group of Nottingham Forest Football Club. This partnership reflects our commitment to engaging with fans at a personal level, building a sense of community and shared pride in supporting a club that values diversity and inclusion.

Talking about Rainbow Laces, Calum Osborne, Nottingham Forest Community Trust CEO said, “As we commemorate the 10th anniversary of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces, Nottingham Forest Community Trust remains steadfast in our commitment to championing diversity and inclusivity. Through collaborative efforts with Nottingham Forest Football Club and the Premier League, we strive to ensure that football is not just a game but a welcoming space for everyone, irrespective of their background. Our work in the community, coupled with the support of Proud Forest, reflects our unwavering dedication to creating a footballing environment that is truly for all.”
