Nottingham Forest and QPR Community Trusts are teaming up to raise awareness and funds for former player Stan Bowles in his battle with alzheimer’s as well as local Nottingham charity, Bloomin Dementia.
Bowles made 300 league appearances for Queens Park Rangers from 1972-1979 before moving to Nottingham Forest where he was apart of the 1979-80 European Cup winning squad. Stan featured 19 times for The Reds, scoring twice. The Forward made 560 career league appearances in total, featuring for other clubs such as Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra, Carlisle United, Leyton Orient and Brentford.
Bloomin Dementia is a local charity supporting people living with dementia in the community and helping families to have some much needed respite.
The Just For Stan Fund and Bloomin Dementia as well as both community trusts will be beneficiaries of various activities throughout the day when the two sides meet at The City Ground this weekend.
If you are at the game on Saturday please show your support and donate at collection points around the stadium. Or alternatively you can donate online via our Just Giving page (monies will be split equally between the four beneficiaries). Donate here
