Safeguarding
At Nottingham Forest Community Trust, we believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and it’s about ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals in our community.
We recognise that safeguarding is a responsibility shared by everyone involved in our activities, including volunteers, coaches, members, and participants. As such, we have developed a comprehensive safeguarding policy that sets out our commitment to protecting children or vulnerable individuals from any form of abuse or harm.
What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding encompasses a range of preventative measures aimed at reducing the risk of harm and mistreatment towards adults at risk and children. Regardless of who this involves safeguarding seeks to minimise risks and promote the best possible outcomes for each individual.
By understanding what safeguarding entails and how you can play your part, we can collectively create a safer environment for everyone. So let’s delve deeper into what safeguarding means and how you can contribute to this important cause.
How does Nottingham Forest Community Trust implement safeguarding?
Nottingham Forest Community Trust is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals participating in all our activities. The safety and wellbeing of all our participants is at the forefront of everything we do, and we aim to maintain an environment that promotes the safety and welfare of all our participants.
We recognise that safeguarding is a responsibility shared by everyone involved with all of our activities, including volunteers, coaches, members, and participants. As such, we have developed a comprehensive safeguarding policy that sets out our commitment to protecting adults at risk and children from any form of abuse or harm.
By working to our code of conduct, we educate our team and protect adults at risk and children from harm. The code of conduct outlines expectations and provides a framework that underpins how staff will work ethically with those that engage with NFCT.
We prioritise the safeguarding and welfare of all individuals who engage with us. Our commitment to safeguarding is underscored by our structured reporting process, which ensures that concerns are addressed systematically and efficiently. You can view our reporting process here. We have established procedures that encompass various programmatic contexts and involve designated personnel, ensuring that safeguarding remains a top priority in all our interactions.
If you have a Safeguarding concern, please inform the Trust’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, Chloe Bingham.
