Schools Unite for ‘No Room For Racism’ Event
In celebration of Black History Month, Nottingham Forest Community Trust welcomed students from Bramcote College and Long Eaton School to The City Ground for a Premier League ‘No Room For Racism’ event. The event, which forms part of the Premier League Inspires programme, brought secondary school students from these partner schools together to engage in an inspiring day focused on the importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion, both in football and society.
The event was part of a wider initiative to mark Black History Month, using football’s influence to educate young people on the significance of racial equality. Students began the day with a behind-the-scenes tour of Nottingham Forest’s historic stadium, followed by interactive workshops aimed at addressing the role football plays in combatting racism and promoting inclusivity. These sessions encouraged the pupils to reflect on the impact of discrimination and the need to stand against it, both on and off the pitch.

In addition to the workshops, students participated in activities designed to develop leadership, confidence, and teamwork skills – core components of the Premier League Inspires programme, which supports young people’s development through the power of football.
Jordan Ferrer, Nottingham Forest Community Trust Premier League Inspires Coordinator, said, “Hosting this ‘No Room For Racism’ event is incredibly important to us, especially during Black History Month, as it gives young people a platform to learn, engage, and become advocates for positive change in their schools and communities. Football is a powerful tool to bring people together, and through the Premier League Inspires programme, we aim to empower students to not only recognise but challenge all forms of discrimination. Bramcote College and Long Eaton School are fantastic partners, and we’re proud to work with them on such a vital cause.”
The event was part of the Premier League’s wider ‘No Room For Racism’ initiative, which seeks to tackle racism both on and off the pitch, using the reach and influence of football to spread a message of unity and respect.
The day concluded with students reflecting on what they had learned and sharing their commitment to making a positive difference in their schools and local communities. Nottingham Forest and the Premier League Inspires programme continue to be at the forefront of supporting youth development and tackling social issues through the power of sport.
