Club legend, John McGovern, alongside Nottingham Forest Community Trust are supporting local charity, Framework, in their efforts to end the problem of homelessness in and around Nottingham. On November 18, Framework’s Big Sleep Out will be hosted by us here at the Community Trust, at our own Forest Sports Zone in Gregory Boulevard. The event, kindly sponsored by the Nottingham Building Society will be expecting around 300 volunteers.

The event is family-friendly and enjoyable and we’re expecting individuals of all ages to get involved. The money raised will give the ability for Framework’s Street Outreach team to carry on their amazing work supporting those sleeping rough into independent living with accommodation of their own.

Dr. Peter Barrett, Chairman of Framework’s Board points out how homelessness is a “serious and growing issue” and that we are seeing “more and more people sleeping rough on our streets.” He notes; “It is a fun event held in aid of a very serious cause. I am delighted that the Nottingham Forest Community Trust are supporting it in this way. I am grateful to our superb sponsors and to John for lending his support to the event.”

Rachel Whysall, our Relationships Manager here at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, illustrates how excited we are to be involved in such a fantastic charity; “Nottingham Forest Community Trust are delighted to have been given the opportunity to support The Big Sleep Out, we hope with the power of football and Nottingham Forest we can help raise awareness of such a fantastic cause.”
