Vacancy: Premier League Primary Stars Lead Coach

Nottingham Forest Community Trust is excited to announce an opening for the role of Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) Lead Coach. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary based on skills and experience. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our growing team and make a positive impact on young people through our PLPS programme.

Reporting to: Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator

Salary: £23,200

Employment: Full time, permanent

Role Overview:

The Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) Lead Coach will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and physical activity sessions to young people aged 5-11. Reporting to the Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator, the successful candidate will work closely with schools to implement the PLPS programme, inspire pupils, and support teachers in enhancing their PE and sports delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with schools to effectively implement the PLPS programme.
  • Plan and deliver engaging physical activity sessions.
  • Provide 1:1 and group classroom support for pupils.
  • Serve as a positive role model, engaging and inspiring young participants.
  • Enhance teachers’ skills and confidence in delivering PE and school sports.
  • Promote Trust programmes and provide support across various initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with schools and partner organisations.
  • Support the Trust’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion policies.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Association for Physical Education (AfPE) Level 3 or working towards it.
  • Experience in delivering physical education in primary schools.
  • NGB Level 2 certification.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and HE frameworks.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Multi-skills Level 2.
  • Experience with a football club’s charitable organisation.
  • FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate.
