At Nottingham Forest Community Trust we are introducing a new Walking Football initiative to encourage over 50’s to get involved in football. Walking football offers a range of physical health benefits to players as well as a great opportunity to make new friends and meet new people through being active. Players of all skills and experience levels are encouraged to get involved, including both women and men.

This week we held a Walking Football open day at The Forest Sports Zone. The open day allowed people interested in the sport to come down and find out more information about how they can get involved. The day included participants being able to have a kick about whatever their skill or experience level, and also provided them with the opportunity to meet new people. The participants were visited by Forest legend John McGovern, who talked with participants about his own experiences and gave them lot’s of helpful advice.
