Vacancy: Mentoring Manager
We’ve got an incredible opportunity to join the team as we’re on the hunt for a Mentoring Manager. The closing date for applications is 5th April 2023 at 5pm, with interviews taking place shortly after.
What’s it about?
Reporting to the Head of Education, Training & Employment, the Mentoring Manager will lead on our new Forest Futures project. Forest Futures is a unique programme, funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund (PLCF), the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) and the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Partnership (NNVRP). The programme will deliver a structured football and mentoring programme, supporting children and young people, aged 14-25, to reduce risk factors associated with violent crime.
This is an exciting opportunity for a culturally sensitive and reflective practitioner who is organised, determined and passionate about supporting young people. You will lead, co-ordinate and develop the Forest Futures programme so we need someone that thinks innovatively, can see the wider picture and understands the important role that mentoring can have on young people.
What will I be doing?
- Design the mentoring strand of Forest Futures, managing all planning, development and delivery.
- Lead the recruitment for a team of community-based mentors and ensure they receive the support and training appropriate to the role.
- Manage the performance of the Forest Futures delivery team, ensuring that all programme KPI’s are met.
- Coordinate the referral processes for young people into and out of the mentoring programme, working with the Police and Youth Justice Services.
- Manage relationships with Forest Futures partners, including PLCF, PFA, NNVRP and Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.
- Create a network of former professional footballers (PFA members) and providers/suppliers of relevant training, workshops and employment opportunities for the young people receiving mentoring.
- To collate all relevant evidence, insight and data for internal reporting and funding providers.
- Support the implementation of the Trust’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all staff and programmes are fully compliant with the latest safeguarding, health and safety and data protection legislation.
- Always represent the Trust positively to internal and external partners and stakeholders, including Nottingham Forest Football Club.
