Nine goals. Three points.
A sunny Derby day in Derbyshire saw Nottingham Forest meet Derby County for the 4th time this season. With the reds winning every previous game, they hoped to continue the trend in this one.

FIRST HALF
The reds started the game well playing the ball about, but 2 minutes into the game Derby played a high press forcing a mistake which they missed. Forest early on were the dominant force early on, a corner put in by number 4 at the back post was headed down and passed to number 10 who clinically smashes the ball past the keepers right.
13’ FOREST 1-0 DERBY
Derby weren’t out yet however, when another corner for the reds saw a quick counter attack and a long ball over the top have derby a one on one opportunity which they took, the Derby winger placed the ball into the Forest keepers bottom left.
23’ FOREST 1-1 DERBY
For a 10 minute period Derby pushed and pushed for the second goal knowing they can score against Forest, throwing awkward balls, long balls and long passes their way, however Forest stood strong. A few more chances came for Forest with diagonal balls seeming to work quite well, but no breakthrough since the Derby equaliser as we head into half time.
HALF TIME 1-1
SECOND HALF
Forest started sharp in the second half with a lot more quick passing around Derbys high press. When a few minutes into the 2nd half saw a brilliant cross from number 3 found number 7 lurking at the back post to poke it home.
48’ FOREST 2-1 DERBY
Forest seemed to quickly get out of 2nd gear in this half, chances after chances were quickly put away when another great cross from number 11 who finds number 9 as he puts away what should be his 2nd goal of the game. Although the keeper could have done better, it was Forests game to lose now.
50’ FOREST 3-1 DERBY
Forest were in full control now having a 2 goal cushion. But the plan was to be ruthless. With a rhythm now found, Forest ended up winning a penalty won by number 8 after a brilliant drive into the box, in which he took and slotted into the bottom right corner with great composure.
58’ FOREST 4-1 DERBY
A few more chances came for both teams with Derby trying to answer back, but it seemed that Forest had just blocked all ways of them getting through, hitting the side netting and some easy catches for the Forest keeper. After a 10 minute drought, Forest found the back of the net once again after a great pass from Substitute number 14 who played a great pass to number 11 who scored his 2nd of the game.
70’ FOREST 5-1 DERBY
4 minutes later another great corner and flick on for number 8 to score his 2nd goal of the game despite shouts for offside.
74’ FOREST 6-1 DERBY
Forest were having lots of fun with the ball now. with a big gap, they decided to get a lot more creative, when number 3 sent the Derby rig ht back with a nutmeg and a stupendous cross to give number 11 his second of the game with an accurate header into the bottom corner.
76’ FOREST 7-1 DERBY
A few changes were made with number 6 coming into centre midfield, thus shown to be a brilliant decision after number 6 finds number 11 with a brilliant drilled ball, in which he drove past the keeper with ease.
79’ FOREST 8-1 DERBY
Towards the end of the game saw Forest keeping the ball and playing around Derby. With one counter attack from Derby seeing a purposeful handball to stop a potential opportunity by number 5 which earned himself a place in the referees book, yellow card. One last attack from Forest late on saw a brilliant ball through Derbys back line found number 3 who saw a shot saved, where it dropped for number 15 to score his first of the season as he ran to the corner flag falling over.
