HOLLIE OLDING SUPPORTS HEALTHY GOALS SESSION

Nottingham Forest Women’s midfielder Hollie Olding recently joined a female-only Healthy Goals session at Forest Fields, engaging with local participants to provide insight into life as a professional athlete.

The Healthy Goals programme, delivered by Nottingham Forest Community Trust, offers community-based health and wellbeing support. While the wider programme is mixed-gender, this specific session was tailored exclusively for women and girls, providing a comfortable environment for participants to focus on their physical and mental health.

Olding, who was appointed as a Mental Health Ambassador for the Club last year, took an active role throughout the evening. The visit was split into two key segments, with the midfielder first joining a group of local teenagers before participating in the adult session.

Beyond taking part in the football drills and physical activities, Olding led an interactive Q&A. She shared her experiences regarding the discipline required for high-level performance, the importance of resilience, and how maintaining an active lifestyle contributes to overall wellbeing.

Hollie Olding, said: “I had so much fun attending the session! It was really empowering to see so many women together in a space where they felt encouraged and motivated.

Staying physically active helps me so much! It helps me to regulate my mood and just makes me feel much better overall. It’s fundamental to my daily routine.”

Colin Eley, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said: “Having Hollie join us at our Forest Fields session was a fantastic boost for the Healthy Goals programme. Her willingness to dive into the activities and share her journey authentically provides a level of inspiration that you just can’t replicate. It’s about emphasising these space belong belong to women and girls, whether they are playing for fun, fitness or dreaming of a professional career.”

The Healthy Goals programme is made possible through strategic partnerships and funding. The programme is funded by the Premier League Foundation and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), and is delivered in close collaboration with the Public Health teams at Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council. This joint funding allows the Trust to provide these high-quality fitness and wellbeing sessions free of charge, removing financial barriers for participants across the city.

Nottingham Forest Community Trust delivers a wide range of sessions across the city designed to support health, fitness, and social connection:

  • Healthy Goals: Tailored health and lifestyle sessions for various age groups.
  • Premier League Kicks: Free football and multi-sport sessions for young people.
  • Walking Football: A sociable, low-impact version of the game for adults.
