Supporting Premier League With Pride

Nottingham Forest Community Trust is proud to support the Premier League’s new ‘With Pride’ initiative, reinforcing a shared commitment to making football a welcoming and inclusive space for all.

Premier League With Pride brings together the ongoing LGBTQ+ work delivered by the League and its clubs across the year, helping to drive long-term, meaningful change. All Premier League fixtures between 6 and 12 February, including Forest’s home clash against Wolves, have been dedicated to ‘With Pride’, aligning with LGBTQ+ History Month and providing an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in football while highlighting the work taking place to make the game more inclusive.

Developed in consultation with clubs, LGBTQ+ supporters’ groups and a wide range of stakeholders, the initiative is built around three core themes: education, celebration and action. These pillars are central to ensuring that inclusion is not a one-off moment, but embedded within the culture of the game.

At Nottingham Forest Community Trust, key campaigns and awareness initiatives are woven into the delivery of Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Inspires, which are delivered in primary and secondary schools across Nottinghamshire. Through these programmes, young people are encouraged to explore important topics around equality, diversity and respect in a safe and supportive environment.

This week, pupils from local schools visited the City Ground to take part in an engaging workshop centred on the Premier League’s With Pride initiative. Led by Community Trust coaches, the session encouraged open discussion and reflection, helping pupils to better understand the impact of stereotypes and how assumptions can affect individuals and communities.

Young people explored what it means to show respect and act as an ally, learning how small, everyday actions can make a significant difference in creating inclusive spaces. Through interactive activities and real-life scenarios, pupils were challenged to think about how they can celebrate differences, stand up for others and contribute positively to their schools and wider communities.

The workshop concluded with a private tour of the City Ground, offering pupils a memorable experience beyond the classroom. Stepping inside the home of Nottingham Forest provided a powerful backdrop to the day’s learning, reinforcing the message that football is a game for everyone. Experiences like this not only inspire and engage young people, but also help bring learning to life in a setting that feels special, relevant and motivating.

Jordan Ferrer, Schools Coordinator at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said:

“Supporting the Premier League’s With Pride initiative is incredibly important to us. Through our work in schools, we see first-hand the difference that education and open conversations can make. By creating safe spaces for young people to explore topics around respect, stereotypes and allyship, we are helping to build a more inclusive generation who understand that football and our communities are stronger when everyone feels welcome.”

Through Premier League With Pride, Nottingham Forest Community Trust remains committed to using the power of football to educate, celebrate diversity and take meaningful action, ensuring the game continues to be a place where everyone belongs.
