Coddington Primary Wins Fair Play Award at National Premier League Tournament

Coddington Primary School have proudly brought home the Fair Play Award from this year’s Premier League Primary Stars National Tournament, held at Molineux Stadium, the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League Primary Stars National Tournament is an annual highlight in the school sport calendar, offering pupils a truly unforgettable experience.

Hosted at a different Premier League stadium each year, the event gives children the unique opportunity to walk out onto the big stage with this year being at Molineux, home of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The tournament is about inspiring ambition, promoting positive values, and creating lasting memories. For many pupils, it’s their first experience of travelling to a top-flight stadium, meeting peers from across the country, and representing their club at a national level.

Partner schools play in regional qualifiers in the mixed and girls’ categories, with the winners progressing to the national finals.

Representing Nottingham Forest, Coddington’s mixed team earned their place in the national finals after winning back-to-back regional tournaments, a remarkable achievement that secured them national qualification two years running.

They previously represented the Reds at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Although they were narrowly knocked out during the group stages at Molineux, the team showcased exceptional fairness and integrity throughout, earning them the Fair Play Award.

This accolade is awarded to the team that upholds the spirit of the game, treats opponents and officials with respect, and embodies the core values of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.
