Community Kicks Returns with Notts Police
We’re delighted to announce that Community Kicks is back – and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever!
On Sunday 13th July, more than 400 young people from across Nottinghamshire will come together at the University of Nottingham’s David Ross Sports Village for a day of football, fun, and community connection.
This exciting, action-packed event, delivered in partnership with Nottinghamshire Police, is designed to bring communities together, give young people positive opportunities, and build stronger relationships between local residents, organisations, and services.
Youngsters will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in our seven-a-side football competition, alongside much more for the whole family to enjoy.
Throughout the day, visitors can take part in a huge variety of free activities, including:
✅ Inflatable penalty shootout – test your skills with our Nottingham Forest Community Trust team.
✅ Graffiti wall – create a collaborative artwork with Nottingham’s own Imageskool.
✅ Circus skills & bubble workshops with Starz CIC.
✅ Live DJ bringing the energy all day long.
✅ Police engagement activities – explore a police car, try on kit, and meet local officers.
✅ Bike security marking with crime prevention teams.
✅ Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service – hands-on activities for the whole family.
✅ Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance – meet the team and check out their critical care car.
✅ Plus, engagement stalls from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Nottingham College, with games, giveaways, and loads to discover.
Learning Life Skills
Community Kicks is also about empowering young people to make positive choices. Alongside the fun, there will be opportunities to take part in vital educational workshops, including:
✅ Virtual_Decisions KNIVES – an immersive virtual reality experience exploring the risks and consequences of knife crime.
✅ Street Doctors and St John Ambulance – offering lifesaving first aid skills to equip young people to help themselves and others.
Free Food and Refreshments
Thanks to Samworth Brothers, every young player will receive a free sandwich, and families can enjoy free popcorn from Hickory’s Smokehouse as part of the day.
Proud to partner with Nottinghamshire Police again
Speaking ahead of the event, Stefan Furgala, Community Engagement Coordinator at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Nottinghamshire Police once again for Community Kicks. This event is more than football. It’s about giving young people positive opportunities, bringing communities together, and showing how sport can be a real force for good.
It’s always fantastic to see so many smiling faces, families coming together, and young people learning new skills both on and off the pitch. We’re looking forward to another brilliant day.”
Inspector Paul Peatfield, from Nottinghamshire Police’s Prevention Hub, added:
“Successful events such as Community Kicks are a fantastic way for families to enjoy themselves, meet their local policing teams, and for us to bring the community together and build positive relationships with members of the community of all ages.
“There will also be some interactive educational activities at our event, including the award-winning Virtual_Decisions KNIVES VR sessions, aimed at preventing knife crime and raising awareness of the dangers and consequences of carrying a weapon.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone there on 13 July and it will be wonderful to see our community come together again for such an exciting, fun, and important event.
“I’d also like to say a big thank you to all of our partners who are supporting us at this event to ensure everyone has a great time.”
