Community Trust Proud to Support the 2025 Grace O’Malley-Kumar Cup

Nottingham Forest Community Trust is honoured to be invited to play its part at this year’s Grace O’Malley-Kumar Cup, taking place on Saturday 19th July at Nottingham Hockey Club.

Now in its second year, the Grace O’Malley-Kumar Cup is a powerful and emotional celebration of Grace’s life, legacy and the values she lived by. The event brings together the hockey clubs, team-mates, and communities that shaped and were shaped by Grace, while raising vital funds for the Grace O’Malley-Kumar Foundation.

A passionate hockey player and medical student at the University of Nottingham, Grace’s love for sport, her compassion for others, and her unwavering support for those around her continue to inspire. She tragically lost her life in June 2023, and this annual event ensures that her spirit lives on through sport, unity, and joy.

While the day will feature a friendly hockey tournament involving many of Grace’s former team-mates and friends, it is above all a broader celebration filled with music, entertainment, community spirit and moments of remembrance.

As part of the event, Nottingham Forest Community Trust will be present with its popular inflatable football goal usually seen in the Nottingham Forest Fan Zone on matchdays, giving attendees the chance to test their skills and aim for ‘top bins’, bringing a fun addition to the day.

The Trust is proud to support an event that aligns so closely with its own values of inclusion, kindness, and using sport to connect people and strengthen communities. Events like the Grace O’Malley-Kumar Cup are vital reminders of how sport can heal, unite, and honour those who have made a lasting impact.

This event is a beautiful tribute to a remarkable young woman, and, Nottingham Forest Community Trust is proud to play a small part in keeping Grace’s memory and legacy alive.

Calum Osborne, CEO of Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said:
“We are incredibly proud to support this special event in memory of Grace. Her compassion, energy and love for sport reflect everything we stand for as a Community Trust.

“Events like this show the power of community in its truest form, and we’re proud to be part of it.

“It is also a chance for us to connect with the wider Nottingham community, including its thriving student population, and stand together to celebrate a young life that touched so many.”
