Community Trust Strengthens Board with Appointment of Two New Trustees

Nottingham Forest Community Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of two new trustees, Christine Kane and Tom Gribbin, bringing a wealth of experience across sport, education, safeguarding, sustainability, and the third sector. Their appointment marks an exciting chapter for the Trust as it continues to grow its impact across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.

Christine Kane is currently a Deputy Head at Marlborough College and a Council Member of The Football Association (FA), she also serves as the Senior Non-Executive Director of the Oxfordshire FA. With over two decades of experience across education, sport, the Armed Forces community, charities, and social care, Christine brings significant leadership and safeguarding expertise, having previously held the role of Head of Safeguarding at Aston Villa Football Club following their return to the Premier League in 2019. Christine currently sits on the boards of several charitable organisations and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Originally from the East Midlands and a graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Christine is passionate about giving back to her local community through the transformative power of sport.

Tom Gribbin is an entrepreneurial leader with over 20 years of experience in strategy, creative development, commercial innovation, public relations, and behaviour change.

Tom is the founder of Planet League, a platform that mobilises sports fans to live greener lives, working with teams across the Premier League, NFL, NBA, and NHL. He is also one of the founders of Green Football Weekend, a national campaign that brings together fans and athletes to take climate action through sport. Earlier in his career, Tom founded Boost, a digital platform aimed at increasing physical activity in young people and has led initiatives in the digital innovation space.

A lifelong Forest fan Tom grew up in West Bridgford and brings not only professional expertise but deep personal investment in the local area.

Judith Lyons, Chair of Trustees at Nottingham Forest Community Trust welcomed the new appointments: “We are delighted to welcome Christine and Tom to the board.

“Their combined experience will significantly strengthen our board. Both bring a deep personal connection to Nottingham and a passion for the role that football can play in changing lives.

“We look forward to working with them as Nottingham Forest Community Trust continues to deliver lasting impact across our communities.”
