Forest delighted with impactful Christmas initiatives

Nottingham Forest is proud to celebrate the success of its impactful ‘Home For Christmas’ campaign, an initiative championed by owner Evangelos Marinakis to spread festive cheer and extend a helping hand to those in need during the holiday season. With the goal of being a force for good in the community, this heartwarming effort showcases the true spirit of the Forest Family, offering an extension of the Forest For Everyone initiative.

Forest For Everyone is proudly supported by the Premier League’s Fans Fund which provides grants to support football clubs at all levels of the game to strengthen connections between them, their fans and local communities—proving that when united, magical things happen both on and off the pitch.

On Tuesday, 17th December, the club’s football and netball teams came together with the Community Trust to make a difference, dividing their efforts across three key locations in Nottingham: the Nottingham Children’s Hospital at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC), the Multibank Collection at the City Ground Fanzone, and the Himmah Hub in Hyson Green.

At the QMC, a group of players led by head coach Nuno Espírito Santo brought festive joy to young patients and their families. Armed with gifts and smiles, they visited children who will spend Christmas in hospital, offering a welcome distraction and moments of pure joy. For these children, their families, and the hospital staff, this act of kindness created lasting memories and showcased the deep connection between the club and its community.

Simultaneously, another group of players, led by Neco Williams, headed to the Multibank Collection at the Fanzone. There, they made a significant donation of items collected by the team and stayed to assist with sorting donations. Fans passing by were thrilled to see their favourite players actively contributing to the cause, and many were inspired to add their own donations to the growing collection. The team then proceeded to the Himmah Hub in Hyson Green, where they served hot meals to over 50 beneficiaries and handed out gifts to delighted children. This act of service underscored the campaign’s mission to create a brighter holiday season for all.

In addition, this appeal extends beyond the wider Forest For Everyone initiative, further supported by the Premier League’s Fans Fund, which provides grants to strengthen connections between football clubs, their fans, and local communities. The ‘Home For Christmas’ support perfectly exemplifies this vision, showcasing how a football club can inspire and mobilise its fanbase to drive meaningful change.

The ‘Home For Christmas’ campaign is more than just a seasonal effort; it is a testament to Nottingham Forest’s commitment to being a pillar of support and positivity within its community. Through initiatives like these, Forest For Everyone continues to build bridges, celebrate inclusivity, and reinforce the enduring bond between the club, its fans, and the local community.
