Forest Forces attend Military Concert
Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s Forest Forces Veterans programme had the honour of attending a magnificent evening of music at Lincoln Cathedral, a long-standing tradition hosted by the Lincolnshire branch of the Army Benevolent Fund (The Soldiers’ Charity).
This special outing provided a memorable opportunity for the veterans to gather and enjoy a world-class performance within the historic setting.

The concert, which returned to Lincoln Cathedral after a two-year break, featured the renowned Band of the Welsh Guards, one of the six Household Division bands. Adding a local touch to the event, the band was led by their Director of Music, Major Matt Simons, who delivered a spectacular performance.
The veterans attended as part of the Forest Forces programme. This initiative is dedicated to supporting military veterans, service personnel, and their families across Nottinghamshire. By providing an inclusive and engaging environment, Forest Forces uses the power of football and shared experiences to create social inclusion, reduce isolation, and promote physical and mental wellbeing within the local veteran community.
Reflecting on the evening, Brian Dacunha, Forest Forces Coordinator, praised the impact of the outing. “It was a truly special and memorable evening for our veterans.”
“The music was spectacular, and the atmosphere inside the Cathedral was absolutely incredible. Opportunities like this are vital for developing social connection and bringing our Forest Forces family together for a night of shared enjoyment and reflection.”
