Forest see off Derby 2-0!
On a crisp sunny day at The Forest Sports Zone, Forest’s fourth league game welcomed local rivals Derby County in a feisty mid-table battle as the Reds looked to improve off last week’s frustrating 3-2 loss away to Walsall.

FIRST HALF
With Forest starting high up the and pressing deep there came lots of chances that failed to hit the back of the net early on.
Derby also provided a few challenging counters that didn’t split the two sides – both eager to take home the three points.
Forest had some good chances from long throw-ins which the goalkeeper and defenders struggled to deal with.
When the referee blew for half-time, both teams came in goalless, both having must-score chances.
SECOND HALF
The second half saw a much sharper and better-quality Forest side.
An early injury saw Forest’s number 9 leave the pitch and number 13 coming into centre back, pushing number 4 into midfield and leaving a singular striker.
The Reds’ first goal came from a great bit of play and a fantastic through ball from number 4, sending number 8 through one-on-one, which he buried it bottom right corner.
Forest 1-0 Derby County
A 15-minute period saw Derby putting on more pressure as they searched for a crucial equaliser, but Forest’s back line held well.
As a result, Derby seemed to get tired, leaving more space on counter attacks for Forest.
A few chances were missed for Forest but as the clock ticked into the 85th minute, another long throw in was flicked into the back of the net by number 7, sealing the 3 points for The Reds.
A great effort by both teams. Well done to all players and coaches involved.
