Local Schools Compete in Premier League Primary Stars Girls Tournament
Nottingham Forest Community Trust recently hosted the Premier League Primary Stars U11 Girls Regional Qualifiers at Gresham Sports Park, bringing together five local primary schools to compete for a place on the national stage.
The tournament featured U11 girls’ teams from Nottingham Academy, Coddington, Porchester, Claremont, and Crabtree. Following a highly competitive round-robin and knockout format, Coddington CofE Primary School secured the title.
By winning the local qualifier, Coddington has earned the honour of representing Nottingham Forest at the Premier League Primary Stars National Final this June, held at a Premier League stadium.
The event at Gresham Sports Park is part of a wider commitment by the Trust to increase participation in girls’ football and provide local pupils with unique pathways into competitive sport.

Jordan Ferrer, Schools Manager at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said:
“The level of talent on display today at Gresham Sports Park was exceptional. All five schools – Nottingham Academy, Coddington, Porchester, Claremont, and Crabtree – showed great technical ability and, more importantly, fantastic values. We are delighted to have Coddington representing Nottingham Forest at the Premier League Primary Stars National Girls Tournament in the summer.”
Premier League Primary Stars is the Premier League’s primary school education programme. Funded by the Premier League, through the Premier League Foundation, the programme uses the appeal of football to help children to be active and develop essential life skills.
Delivered by Nottingham Forest Community Trust across Nottinghamshire, the initiative provides free, mappable teaching resources for schools and uses football to help children excel in everything from PE and PSHE to English and Maths.
