Nottingham Forest Community Trust: A Year in Review

2024 has been a year of transformative impact and inspiring initiatives for the Nottingham Forest Community Trust. From championing mental health and inclusivity to developing talent and supporting those who need us, the Trust has significantly shaped the community for the better. Here’s a month-by-month look at some of the year’s highlights:

JANUARY – HARRY TOFFOLO ANNOUNCED AS MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADOR

Forest defender Harry Toffolo stepped up to promote mental health awareness, becoming a key voice in supporting the community’s well-being.

 

FEBRUARY – GEORGE NAMED COMMUNITY CAPTAIN

Recognising outstanding dedication to the community, George earned the title of Community Captain for his inspiring contributions.

 

MARCH – IFTAR EVENT AT THE CITY GROUND

The Trust hosted a memorable Iftar event, welcoming people of all faiths to break their fast together and celebrate unity.

 

APRIL – THINK BIG AMBASSADOR DAY

A day dedicated to empowering young people through mentorship and support, featuring Think Big Ambassadors leading the charge.

 

MAY – MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH AND PFA CHAMPION ANNOUNCED 

May was packed with mental health initiatives, culminating in the announcement of the Professional Footballers’ Association Champion for the year.

 

JUNE – EURO 2024 SEND OFF AND PREMIER LEAGUE PRIMARY STARS TOURNAMENT

Celebrating the Euros and developing young talent, Coddington C of E Primary School, representing Nottingham Forest in the Premier League Primary Stars Tournament at Brentford FC Gtech Community Stadium.

 

JULY – PREMIER LEAGUE INSPIRES PGL TRIP

A transformative trip for Premier League Inspires students as they took part in an adventure-filled PGL visit. Activities such as climbing, canoeing, and team-building exercises helped students build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills.

 

AUGUST – FAMILY FUN DAY, SEASON LAUNCH VIDEO, AND THE LAUNCH OF THE COMMUNITY CORNER IN THE FAN ZONE

Kicking off the season with fun-filled activities, a launch video, and a new Community Corner for fans.

 

SEPTEMBER – SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD EVENT AND IMPACT REPORT RELEASE

A month dedicated to fighting discrimination and reflecting on the Trust’s achievements with the release of the 2023/24 Impact Report.

 

OCTOBER – PREMIER LEAGUE KICKS TOURNAMENT, OPEN TRAINING SESSION, AND RAINBOW LACES

October saw vibrant community engagement through football, inclusivity, and a showcase of support for diversity.

 

NOVEMBER – FOREST FORCES REMEMBRANCE AND HIMMAH GOODY BAG DROP OFF

Paying tribute to service members and providing support to those in need through Himmah initiatives.

 

DECEMBER – ‘HOME FOR CHRISTMAS’ LAUNCH AND HIMMAH MULTIBANK

The festive season was capped with joy as Nuno joined the Children’s Christmas Party, while the Himmah Multibank brought relief to families.

An incredible total of 4,259kg of essential items has been raised through our food and multibank collection. Our owner, Evangelos Marinakis, has pledged to double the amount, bringing the grand total to more than 8.5 tonnes of essential items for those in need this Christmas.
