Nottingham Forest Staff Walk for Wellbeing

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on Friday 10th October, staff from Nottingham Forest Football Club and Nottingham Forest Community Trust took a collective stride towards promoting mental wellbeing with a refreshing “Wellbeing Walk”.

The walk saw colleagues from various departments – including staff from official club partner, Bully Billows – come together for a scenic route along the banks of the River Trent, emphasising the importance of taking time out for mental health.

The walk commenced from the City Ground, leading participants along the Embankment. Crossing the historic Trent Bridge, the group then made their way back to the stadium, completing a loop that combined gentle exercise with opportunities for social connection and mindfulness.

The walk was organised to highlight the significance of mental health awareness, especially within demanding professional environments. It provided a valuable opportunity for staff to step away from their daily routines, enjoy the fresh air, and engage in conversation, creating a sense of community and support.

Colin Eley, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said: “World Mental Health Day serves as a vital reminder for all of us to prioritise our mental wellbeing.

“Taking part in activities like this wellbeing walk is incredibly beneficial. It’s not just about the physical exercise; it’s about connecting with colleagues, getting outdoors, and allowing ourselves that dedicated time to decompress and focus on our mental health.

“These moments are crucial for resilience and overall happiness, both inside and outside of work.”

Nottingham Forest and Nottingham Forest Community Trust are committed to supporting the holistic wellbeing of their staff, and this event is just one example of their dedication to creating a healthy and supportive work environment.
