Open Training Session brings Club and Community Together
Nottingham Forest Community Trust was thrilled to support Nottingham Forest FC in hosting an open training session at The City Ground, a unique and memorable experience for fans during half term.
Designed to build a deeper connection between the Club and its supporters, the event welcomed over 3,000 fans to the lower Brian Clough Stand – reaffirming Mr. Marinakis’ continued goal to further develop the connection Nottingham Forest has with its supporters and the wider community.
In addition, fans and families had the opportunity to visit the Nottingham Forest Fan Zone which included activity-packed Community Corner, ensuring young fans had a day to remember, made possible by the backing of the club and the Premier League Fans Fund.
For many young fans, this was a rare chance to see the players and coaching staff in action, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the dedication and hard work that goes into preparing for a Premier League match.
The morning was filled with anticipation as fans watched Nuno Espírito Santo and his coaching staff lead the training session in preparation for Forest’s upcoming match against West Ham United.
In an extra special highlight, special guests Warriors United, a football club dedicated to individuals with learning disabilities, were invited to join the event for a memorable visit as part of Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
Players from Warriors United participated in a pitch-side walk and a press conference with Nuno.
This inclusive experience not only allowed the players to engage with the first-team manager but also reinforced the Club’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the community.
After the session, fans enjoyed the exclusive opportunity to interact with their heroes up close, with players making time for photos, signing Forest merchandise, and sharing memorable moments with supporters.
Children and families delighted in capturing selfies with their favourite players, making this half-term experience unforgettable.
The event showcased Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s ongoing commitment to promoting community engagement.
In the Community Corner of the Fan Zone, children participated in fun activities, enjoyed breakfast sandwiches and refreshments, and connected with other fans.
This dedicated area ensured that younger supporters felt like a vital part of the day, embodying the club-wide Forest For Everyone initiative and the Premier League Fans Fund’s mission of bringing fans and communities closer to their teams.
