Prince William and England Team Meet Nottingham Pupils
In an unforgettable experience for the young pupils of one of our partner schools, Carrington Primary School, a group of students visited St George’s Park on Monday for the official send-off of the England football team before their departure to Germany for Euro 2024. The event, held at England’s national football centre in Burton-upon-Trent, was graced by the presence of HRH Prince William, the President of the Football Association.
The visit provided the children with a unique opportunity to meet the England squad, including the players and manager Gareth Southgate, as they prepared for the highly anticipated European Championship. Prince William and the England squad took the time to greet the school children, creating a memorable day for all attendees.

Megan Haynes, Nottingham Forest Community Trust Premier League Primary Stars co-ordinator, said: “It was an incredible experience for the pupils to be part of such a significant moment for the England team. Meeting Prince William and the players has not only inspired the children but also instilled a sense of pride and excitement about the forthcoming Euro 2024. This kind of exposure to top-level football and the positive role models within the sport can have a lasting impact on our young students, encouraging them to pursue their dreams both on and off the pitch.”
As the England team heads to Germany, the children of Carrington Primary School carry with them the excitement of their recent adventure, eagerly supporting their national team in the hopes of a successful Euro 2024 campaign.
