Small Steps, Healthier Goals

We believe that health and wellbeing should be accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of their background or fitness level.

As we head into 2026, the pressure of New Year’s resolutions can often feel overwhelming. Whether it’s the cost of gym memberships or the nerves of starting something new, there are many barriers that stop people from taking that first step toward a healthier lifestyle.

That’s why we are proud to be delivering Healthy Goals, a completely free fitness and wellbeing programme designed to support residents across Nottingham City and Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Healthy Goals isn’t about elite performance or restrictive diets. It’s about movement, mental health, and community. Funded by the Premier League and the PFA, our sessions are built to help you feel your best – both inside and out.

Colin Eley, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Nottingham Forest Community Trust, said: “Health and wellbeing is at the heart of our strategy,”

“Healthy Goals reflects our ambition to use the power of football and sport to create real, lasting impact. We want to ensure that people in our communities have the right support to live healthier, happier lives.”

What to Expect

Whether you are joining us as an adult (18+) or a teen (11-16), our sessions are led by qualified coaches who understand that everyone’s journey is different.

  • For Adults: High-energy workouts, circuit challenges, and “Red Zone” activities designed to build physical resilience and help you manage stress in a supportive, team-based environment.
  • For Teens: Dynamic sessions packed with games, music, and teamwork. It’s a judgment-free space to get active with friends and boost your confidence.
  • For Your Wellbeing: Every session incorporates mindfulness and social connection, ensuring you leave feeling refreshed and re-energised.

We know that walking into a sports hall for the first time can be daunting, but the Nottingham Forest Community Trust team is here to welcome you. There is no experience required, no expensive kit needed, just bring a water bottle, some trainers, and your “good vibes.”

Healthy Goals sessions are currently running at:

  • Forest Fields – Female only (Bluecoat Trent Academy)
  • St Ann’s (Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre)
  • Bilborough (Harvey Hadden Sports Village)
  • Kirkby-in-Ashfield (Kirkby Leisure Centre)
