Think Big Inspires Ideagen Colleagues at UK Conference
The Think Big programme played a central role at Ideagen’s recent UK conference – The Grand Tour – this week, welcoming over 400 UK-based Ideagen employees at the East Midlands Conference Centre. The event provided colleagues with a unique opportunity to learn more about the programme, understand its impact, and explore ways they can engage as Think Big Ambassadors.
Over the past four years, Think Big has been delivering transformational experiences to young people in schools across Nottinghamshire. The programme encourages students to develop confidence, explore career pathways, and gain practical skills, with a particular focus on technology and sport.
Each year, many Think Big participants go on to apply for apprenticeships, including roles within the tech sector, with some securing positions at Ideagen itself. These opportunities demonstrate the tangible outcomes of the programme and its role in helping the next generation pursue rewarding careers in tech.

At the conference, Ideagen colleagues had the chance to hear directly about these successes and the objectives of the programme. They were invited to try out the VR headsets used in Think Big sessions, offering an immersive experience of how the programme engages young people. Attendees also learned more about the role of a Think Big Ambassador.
Think Big Ambassadors help to champion the programme internally and externally, support young people in exclusive sessions – online and in person – and inspire participants by sharing their expertise, enthusiasm, and career experiences. Their involvement ensures the programme continues to deliver real-life skills and motivates young people to explore opportunities in the tech sector.
Raising awareness among colleagues is a vital part of the programme’s impact. By understanding how Think Big works and the difference it makes, Ideagen employees can help amplify its message, support participants, and even become ambassadors themselves. Celebrating the programme internally not only recognises the successes of past participants but also reinforces the importance of the partnership between Nottingham Forest Community Trust and Ideagen in fostering the next generation of tech talent.

Calum Osborne, CEO of Nottingham Forest Community Trust said, “Being part of Ideagen’s annual UK conference is an invaluable opportunity to showcase the impact of Think Big. The programme opens doors for young people, inspires them to pursue careers in technology, and demonstrates how our collaborative efforts can create meaningful change.
“Engaging Ideagen colleagues ensures that the successes of these young people are celebrated, and encourages even more employees to become ambassadors, supporting the next generation to achieve their potential.”
