Vacancy: Premier League Primary Stars Lead Coach
Nottingham Forest Community Trust (NFCT) is looking for an energetic and inspiring Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) Lead Coach to drive excellence in local schools. We are seeking a passionate educator and coach to take the lead in delivering high-quality classroom and physical activity sessions that empower children to reach their full potential.
This dynamic role is at the heart of our mission to use the power of football and the Premier League brand to inspire children aged 5–11 to learn, be active, and develop important life skills. The successful candidate will be a positive role model, supporting teachers and pupils alike to ensure every session is inclusive, engaging, and impactful.
The Role at a Glance
Salary: £24,524 per annum (pro-rata)
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term
Location: Nottingham and surrounding areas (including partner primary schools)
Reporting to: Schools Manager
Core Purpose
The PLPS Lead Coach is the face of Nottingham Forest in the classroom and on the playground. You won’t just be “coaching football” – you will be embedding the Premier League values (Be Inspiring, Be Ambitious, Be Connected, Be Fair) into the National Curriculum.
Your goal is to improve the confidence of teachers in delivering PE while providing targeted interventions that help pupils excel in English, Maths, and PSHE.
Key Areas of Responsibility
High-Impact Delivery: Planning and delivering high-quality PE and classroom-based sessions that align with the National Curriculum.
Teacher Mentoring: Working side-by-side with primary school teachers to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence in delivering school sport.
Pupil Interventions: Providing 1-1 and small group support for pupils, particularly those with behavioural or pastoral needs, using sport as a hook for learning.
Events & Competitions: Organising and leading “collapsed curriculum” days, tournaments, and PLPS festivals that bring schools together.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Meticulously tracking impact and progress via Salesforce to ensure we meet the high standards set by the Premier League Foundation.
Stakeholder Relationships: Acting as a key point of contact for partner schools, ensuring the Trust maintains its reputation for professional, reliable, and high-quality service.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and highly professional individual who understands how to engage young children and navigate a school environment.
Essential Requirements:
- NGB Level 2 / UEFA C Coaching Certificate.
- AfPE Level 3 (or working towards it) or HLTA Level 4.
- Proven experience delivering physical education and classroom interventions in a primary school setting.
- A deep understanding of the National Curriculum and how to manage diverse groups of children.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire both children and school staff.
Desirable:
- Multi-Skills Level 2.
- Youth Work and/or Mentoring qualifications.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or Views) for impact reporting.
