Workshops prepare students for the future

The Think Big Tech Programme, a collaboration between Nottingham Forest Community Trust and Ideagen, offers an exciting series of workshops designed to inspire and equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the world of technology. These interactive sessions provide hands-on learning opportunities, sparking creativity and ambition in schools across Nottinghamshire.

Here’s a closer look at the workshops available:

 

Marketing

In this workshop, students learn how technology and design has revolutionised the world of marketing. Participants will explore how businesses connect with audiences in a tech-driven world. Students will also get the chance to create their own marketing campaigns, developing essential communication and design skills.

Accessibility in Sport

This workshop focuses on understanding the barriers that prevent people from participating in sports, including social, economic, physiological, and physical challenges. Students will explore real-world examples of how these barriers impact individuals and learn ways to support inclusivity in sports. As part of the session, they’ll be challenged to design a concept for an app or piece of technology that could help break down one of these barriers, developing creativity and innovation while promoting accessibility for all.

Coding

Coding is the language of the future, and this workshop provides an engaging introduction to it. Students will learn the basics of programming, working on interactive challenges and get hands-on coding experience with our fun and educational robots. This session shows how coding skills can open endless doors and remove any previous perceptions of coding.

Video Interviews

Mastering video interviews is an essential skill for today’s job market. This workshop prepares students for virtual interviews by simulating a professional interview setting. Using iPads, participants will practice responding to commonly asked questions, helping them develop confidence and effective communication skills. They’ll also receive tips on body language, tone, and delivering concise, impactful answers—key elements to succeeding in a digital interview environment.

Sport and Tech

Technology is changing the way sports are played, coached, and experienced by fans. This session explores innovations such as performance tracking, technology used in sports. Students will see how tech is used behind the scenes to enhance everything from player development to match-day excitement.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI is transforming industries around the globe, and this workshop introduces students to its incredible potential. This introduction to AI will enable students to explore how it’s is used in everyday life, from virtual assistants to self-driving cars. Participants will also discuss ethical considerations and the role they could play in shaping the future of AI.

The Think Big Tech Programme is more than just a series of workshops; it’s a stepping stone into the world of technology. Designed to fit seamlessly within a school setting, the programme offers students:

    • Opportunities to innovate and collaborate, mirroring real-world challenges.
