Yates and Toffolo Inspire Young Footballers
As the autumn leaves fall and the days grow shorter, something special happened at the Nottingham Forest Official Soccer Schools in Carlton this week. Two of Nottingham Forest’s players, Ryan Yates and Harry Toffolo, paid a surprise visit to the young footballers, making it a day to remember.
The Nottingham Forest Official Soccer Schools, managed and delivered by the Community Trust provide children aged 6-12 and of all abilities with the opportunity to play football in a fun, friendly environment under the guidance of qualified coaches. These sessions are part of the Trust’s commitment to increasing physical activity, developing football and building a strong sense of community. This visit from two of the club’s first team players exemplified the Club and Trust’s dedication to inspiring next generation of football stars and Forest fans.
Soccer Schools provide a nurturing space for children to improve their skills, develop a deeper understanding of the game, and, most importantly, have fun. The sessions offer a structured itinerary that focuses on football fundamentals, including passing, shooting, and dribbling, all while building teamwork and togetherness.
Qualified coaches from the Nottingham Forest Community Trust lead the sessions, ensuring that every child gets the attention they need to thrive. These coaches don’t just teach football skills; they instil valuable life lessons such as discipline, respect, and the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle.
One of the most exciting aspects of these soccer schools is the opportunity for young players to meet their footballing heroes. For children who dream of one day wearing the Garibaldi Red shirt, seeing their favourite players up close is a dream come true. Ryan Yates and Harry Toffolo’s surprise visit brought plenty of joy to the faces of these young footballers.
The excitement was almost uncontrollable when the children caught a glimpse of the two players making their way on to the pitch. Yates and Toffolo took the time to chat with the participants, answer their questions, posed for photos, and the children got to show off their football skills to the professionals.
Community Trust coach Tom shared his thoughts on the visit: “Having Ryan Yates and Harry Toffolo visit our Soccer Schools was a very a special moment. It’s always a pleasure to welcome first team players to our sessions.
Tom continued, “It’s incredible to see the impact player appearances have on the children. Their visit not only elevated the children’s enthusiasm but also inspired them. Our young players, many of which are Forest fans, idolise these professionals, and having them here, sharing their passion for the game and offering valuable insights, was an unforgettable experience.
It went exceptionally well, and the smiles on their faces said it all. This visit reinforces that football is not just a game; it’s a source of inspiration and a community builder.”
