It doesn’t have to be Tricky to Talk.
The walk to the City Ground is a ritual. For many of us, it’s a journey filled with anticipation, shared chants, and the familiar sights of Nottingham. But we also know that for some, the journey feels different. Sometimes, life can feel like walking through a tunnel – isolating, dark, and seemingly endless.
At Nottingham Forest Community Trust, we believe no fan should have to carry their struggles in silence.
Being part of the Forest family means looking out for one another long after the final whistle has blown. Mental health doesn’t follow a fixture list, and it doesn’t stay confined to the stands. It’s something many of us navigate every single day.
This weekend, we are proud to stand alongside the Premier League for the Inside Matters campaign. It’s a reminder that what’s happening beneath the surface is just as important as the game on the pitch. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or just need a space to be heard, you don’t have to navigate that path by yourself.
Our Tricky to Talk mental health hubs were created for exactly this reason. We provide a safe, informal, and non-judgmental environment for fans to connect. Through our monthly face-to-face sessions at the City Ground and our ability to signpost you to professional support networks, we are here to help you find the light at the end of the tunnel.
Football has a unique power to bring people together. We want to use the power to ensure that every member of our community feels supported, seen, and valued.
If things feel heavy, please reach out. Let’s look out for our mates, check in on our neighbours, and remember: in this city, you are never walking alone.
