County Lines Awareness with Nottinghamshire Police
Nottingham Forest Community Trust joined forces with Nottinghamshire Police and Crimestoppers during County Lines Intensification Week to raise awareness of the dangers of drug-related exploitation.
The week of action, which took place from 25 November to 1 December, sought to disrupt drug gangs while protecting vulnerable individuals coerced into criminal activity.
County Lines, a term used to describe the use of dedicated mobile phone lines by gangs to supply drugs across the UK, often involves the exploitation of children and vulnerable adults. These individuals are pressured into moving and storing drugs through threats, violence, and manipulation.
As part of the initiative, Nottingham Forest Community Trust supported police efforts at Nottingham Forest’s home game against Ipswich Town on Saturday 30th November.

Engagement activities within Community Corner situated in the fan zone at the City Ground focused on educating fans, young people, and their families about the risks and realities of County Lines.
This collaboration forms part of ‘Forest Futures’, an innovative programme by Nottingham Forest Community Trust aimed at transforming the lives of young individuals aged 14 to 25. Funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund (PLCF), the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), and the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Partnership (NNVRP), Forest Futures empowers participants through a unique blend of football and mentoring.
The initiative uses football’s universal appeal to engage young people in activities that enhance physical fitness, develop life skills, and create personal growth.
By addressing challenges like County Lines exploitation, Forest Futures offers an alternative path for at-risk youth, equipping them with the tools to make positive life choices.

Speaking about the collaboration, Arron Cuttriss, Nottingham Forest Community Trust’s Mentoring Manager, said, “Through our Forest Futures programme, we’re dedicated to ensuring young people are aware of the dangers posed by County Lines exploitation and are empowered to make informed decisions.
“Football is a powerful medium to engage young people and open up conversations about serious issues like this.
“By working alongside Nottinghamshire Police during County Lines Intensification Week, we were able to connect with hundreds of fans and young people, using the influence of Nottingham Forest to amplify an important message of safety and support.”

Forest Futures offers young people the chance to build resilience, confidence, and connections that lead to brighter futures.
With the combined support of the Premier League, PFA, NNVRP, and Nottinghamshire Police, Nottingham Forest Community Trust is creating opportunities for young people to thrive.
Football, once again, proves to be a game-changer—not just on matchdays but in shaping lives.
