Forest For Everyone: Proud Forest

In celebration of Pride Month 2024, Nottingham Forest Community Trust is thrilled to highlight the story of Martin Hyland, the founder of Proud Forest, an LGBTQ+ supporter group, made possible with support from the Nottingham Forest and the Premier League Fans Fund.

Martin spoke passionately about the importance of LGBTQ+ representation in football, reflecting on how far Proud Forest has come in fostering a more inclusive space for fans. For him, Forest is more than just a football club; it’s a community. As a lifelong fan, Martin shared how his love for the club has deepened through the success of Proud Forest, where all fans can feel safe, welcome, and united.

Through Proud Forest, Martin and fellow supporters are showing that football can be a platform for diversity and acceptance.

The Premier League Fans Fund offers grants to help football clubs across all levels strengthen connections with their fans and local communities.

By supporting a variety of fan-focused and fan-led initiatives, the fund builds a sense of belonging through meaningful engagement. This includes projects aimed at under-represented groups, helping to create a more inclusive and welcoming matchday experience for all.
