How Community Trust supported coaches in Singapore

Nottingham Forest Community Trust proudly represented Nottingham Forest on the international stage this month, as community engagement manager Arron Cuttriss was selected to take part in the Premier League’s newly launched Community Coach Development Programme in Singapore.

The initiative, run in partnership with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), brings together experienced coaches from Premier League clubs to help train and develop local grassroots football leaders. Designed to up-skill community coaches and expand football access, the programme reinforces the Premier League’s commitment to global grassroots development.

Over the course of a three-day training camp at Kallang Football Hub, Arron worked alongside coaches from LFC Foundation – the charitable arm of Liverpool FC – and the Premier League to deliver expert sessions to 34 local grassroots coaches – men and women aged between 21 and 69 from a range of backgrounds.

Workshops focused on planning inclusive training sessions, engaging children through fun and structured coaching, and building confidence in leadership and communication.

The programme concluded with a Community Showcase event attended by Premier League legends Joe Hart and John Barnes, where local children put the coaches’ new skills into action during a series of games and activities.

Speaking about the experience, Arron said: “Being chosen to represent Nottingham Forest Community Trust in Singapore was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“I was grateful for the opportunity to work alongside inspiring coaches and passionate participants from across the world.

“Supporting the Premier League reflects the high standards, commitment, and community spirit that represent the ethos of Nottingham Forest Community Trust.”

Arron continued: “Sharing our approach to grassroots coaching on a global stage was incredibly rewarding.

“The experience has made a real impact on me as a coach. It’s helped me grow in confidence, see the game from new perspectives, and appreciate the global community we’re part of.

“It was a privilege to work with such dedicated coaches in Singapore, who care deeply about using football to make a difference.

“The highlight for me was meeting the young people during the Community Showcase. Being able to provide them with Nottingham Forest gifts and spend time with them on the pitch was incredibly special — I hope we’ve created some new Forest fans for life.”

Calum Osborne, CEO, Nottingham Forest Community Trust said: “We’re incredibly proud of Arron’s involvement in supporting this pioneering programme and representing Nottingham Forest on the international stage.

“Having Nottingham Forest Community Trust selected to take part in the launch recognises the outstanding work being delivered by our coaching team — and in particular, Arron’s continued hard work and commitment to the Community Trust.

“It’s a powerful reminder that the values and impact of our work resonate far beyond Nottingham.”
